Sharjah's industrial areas host hundreds of workshops. If your car is at one:

1. Settle diagnosis or storage fees.
2. Ask for the diagnosis in writing.
3. Share the workshop location with the buyer.
4. Arrange collection directly.

Apartment car parks

In Al Nahda, Al Taawun and Al Majaz, long-parked cars often attract notices from building management. Give the buyer the building, parking level and any access rules.

Sharjah or Dubai registration: which authority?

Many people who live in Sharjah have cars registered in Dubai, and vice versa. The paperwork for a transfer or cancellation is handled by the authority where the car is registered, not where you live or where the car is parked. Check the Mulkiya:

A typical Sharjah sale, start to finish

1. You send the car's details, photos and location.
2. The buyer makes an offer, including how fines and any loan are handled.
3. You agree a collection time, and settle any garage charges if the car is at a workshop.
4. On collection day, the car is checked, paperwork is signed and you're paid.
5. The transfer or cancellation is completed and the car is removed.

Scrap it or sell it in Sharjah?

Sharjah's industrial areas include scrap yards as well as garages, so scrapping can seem like the obvious choice. It's worth pausing first. A scrap yard prices mainly by weight, while a buyer who values parts looks at the engine, gearbox, body and model demand. Commuter cars that stopped because of a failed gearbox or overheating often have plenty still worth pricing.
