Quick answer
To sell your car before leaving the UAE, start at least two to four weeks before your flight. Check for fines and any bank loan, get a settlement letter if financed, then sell or cancel the registration so nothing stays in your name. We can buy the car in any condition, settle loans and fines from the price, and collect on your schedule.
We buy any car from expats leaving the UAE
Moving on from the UAE comes with a long list: notice at work, school records, the lease, shipping, visas, bank accounts. The car tends to land near the end of that list, which is exactly when options shrink. Private buyers want a test drive next week, dealers want the car in perfect shape, and the flight doesn't move.
We buy cars from departing residents in any condition, with or without a loan, with or without fines, running or not. You get an offer, agree a date that suits your move, and we take care of collection and the paperwork.

Your car checklist before leaving the UAE
The earlier you start, the more choice you have. A realistic timeline:
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| 6 to 8 weeks before | Check fines on the official app. If financed, request a settlement letter. Decide: sell, export or ship. |
| 3 to 4 weeks before | Get offers. Collect Emirates ID, Mulkiya, loan letter and spare key. Check your Salik balance. |
| 2 weeks before | Agree the sale and collection date. Arrange payment to an account you'll still have access to. |
| Final week | Hand over the car, confirm the transfer or cancellation is recorded, cancel insurance for a refund if eligible. |
| After handover | Keep the transfer or cancellation record. Close or update your Salik account. |

Can you leave the UAE with a car still in your name?
You can physically board the flight, but it's a bad idea. While the car stays registered to you, you're responsible for it. Parking and camera fines keep accumulating, the registration lapses, and if the car is abandoned in a car park the problem is traced back to your file. If there's an unpaid loan, the bank can pursue it through the courts, which can lead to legal consequences, including travel bans in some cases, and complications if you ever return.

Sell, export or ship the car home?
Shipping a car overseas sounds appealing, but it's rarely worth it for older or damaged cars. You pay for export paperwork, shipping, destination import duties, taxes and compliance work, and GCC-spec cars don't always meet another country's standards without modification.
- Sell if the car is older, damaged, not running or low-value relative to shipping costs. Fastest and simplest.
- Export only makes sense for valuable cars that meet your destination's rules.
- Deregister and scrap is the fallback for a car nobody wants, and it still needs doing before you leave.

Leaving the UAE with a car loan or fines
These two issues cause most of the stress for departing residents, so each has its own page:
- Sell a financed car before leaving the UAE: settlement letters, early payoff fees and negative equity.
- Sell a car with fines before leaving the UAE: checking, paying and clearing fines in time.
- Sell your car before leaving Dubai: Dubai-specific steps, RTA and Salik.
