Quick answer
To sell a junk car in the UAE, send us the make, year, condition and location. We make an offer on the car as-is, without you fixing, cleaning or even starting it. Accept, and we tow it free, handle the RTA side and pay you by cash or bank transfer. Offers are subject to a quick inspection.
We buy any junk car, as-is
"Junk car" means different things to different people. For some it's a 20-year-old sedan with 400,000 km and a cracked dashboard. For others it's a five-year-old SUV with a blown engine that a garage quoted more to fix than the owner wants to spend. We buy both, and everything in between.
- Cars that don't start, or start and don't move
- Accident damage, from dents to a written-off insurance total loss
- Flood-damaged, sun-baked or sand-damaged cars
- Very old or very high mileage cars
- Cars with expired registration, unpaid fines or a bank loan
- Cars with missing keys, flat tyres or parts already removed
You don't need to repair, clean or even move the car. Selling as-is is the whole point.
Why a junk car is usually worth more than scrap weight
A scrap yard's first question is how much the car weighs. Ours is what still works. Engines, gearboxes, alternators, catalytic converters, headlights, doors, seats and alloy wheels all have buyers, and some models have a lot of them. In the UAE, parts for Nissan Patrols, Toyota Land Cruisers and Prados, Lexus SUVs and many German cars are in steady demand, so even a badly damaged one can carry real value.
Plenty of cars written off by their owners also turn out to have simple faults. A heat-killed battery, a failed sensor or a tired starter motor can make a sound car look dead. We price the car on what it really is, not on how bad it looks parked in a dusty basement.
Selling a junk car in the UAE: the paperwork, simply
The legal side is where most private junk car sales get stuck. In the UAE the car stays registered to you until it is transferred or deregistered, which means fines, Salik charges and liability can follow you until that's done. Here's what we need and what we handle:
- You provide your Emirates ID and the Mulkiya (registration card). Expired Mulkiya is fine.
- You tell us about any bank loan or unpaid fines up front, so the offer accounts for them.
- We handle the transfer or cancellation with the relevant traffic authority, whether that's RTA in Dubai or the licensing authority in your emirate.
- You receive payment by cash or bank transfer at handover.

JunkMyCar vs selling your junk car privately
| JunkMyCar | Private sale | |
|---|---|---|
| Good for | Non-running, damaged, old or awkward cars | Running cars with clean history |
| Towing | Free, anywhere in the UAE | Car usually has to drive |
| Paperwork, loans and fines | Handled and settled from the price | Left to you and the buyer |
| Legal risk after the sale | None: transfer or cancellation completed at handover | Fines and liability stay in your name until the buyer registers the transfer |
| Buyer comebacks | None: we inspect it ourselves and buy it as-is | Calls and complaints about faults found after they drive away |
| Watch out for | Offers depend on inspection, like any buyer | Time wasters, test drives, no-shows, payment risk |
If your car runs well and you have weeks to spare, a private sale might get you more. If it doesn't, or you don't, a direct offer saves a lot of hassle.
