Flood-damaged cars on the east coast
Fujairah saw severe flooding in July 2022, and heavy rain events on the east coast can send water through wadis and low roads quickly. Cars caught in flood water often look fine at first, then develop electrical faults, smells and corrosion. If yours was affected:
- Don't start the engine if water may have reached the air intake.
- Photograph the waterline inside the car and on the doors.
- Check whether your insurance covers flood before selling.

Salt air, humidity and older cars
Unlike most of the UAE, the east coast is humid year round and close to the sea. Older cars here can show more corrosion underneath, and electrical connections can suffer. That affects value, but it rarely wipes it out, especially for mechanically sound 4x4s and pickups that are popular for east coast life.
Selling a car in Fujairah: paperwork
Vehicle licensing in Fujairah is handled through Fujairah Police traffic services. The usual UAE conditions apply before a transfer or cancellation: fines cleared, bank mortgage released, and plates returned if the car is being scrapped. Cars registered in other emirates can still be sold from Fujairah. We'll handle the paperwork with the right authority.
