After repairs, take the car back for a retest. Some centres offer a retest window at a reduced fee or no fee within a set period. Ask when you fail so you don't miss it.
When to stop repairing and sell
Consider selling if:
- The total repair cost is a large share of the car's value
- The report includes structural damage or major engine problems

- The car is old and you expect more failures next year
- You're leaving the UAE soon

Many failures are preventable with a quick pre-test check a few days before the appointment:
- Walk around the lights: headlights, indicators, brake lights, reverse lights and number plate lights.
- Check tyres: tread depth, sidewall damage, bulges and the date code for age.
- Look under the car for oil, coolant or fuel leaks.
- Check the windscreen for cracks in the driver's line of sight.
- Test the horn, wipers and washers.
- Look for warning lights on the dashboard, especially check engine, ABS and airbag.
- Check window tint against current limits.
